Windows + Android · two standalone apps

Your race engineer.
On the device beside you.

Live strategy, spoken radio and a clearer view of every lap. Run the engineer on your Windows PC or your Android phone or tablet. Each app receives the game directly, runs the same telemetry engine locally, and keeps its own session history. Android does not need a laptop.

Both apps are free. No code, no account, no subscription. Optional AI and voice use your own paid API account.

For F1 25: 2026 Season Pack on PS5 / PC. Check device requirements.

The Drive screen mid-race: a 20-car timing tower with gaps and tyre age, live throttle and brake traces, per-corner tyre wear, and ranked pit stop plans.
The Drive screen at Silverstone. The race shown is synthetic, but every screen on this page is the real application, not a mockup.
Choose either. You do not need both.

Same engineer. Two independent apps.

The telemetry receiver, strategy engine, dashboard and session library run on the device you choose. Android is not a remote screen for Windows, and Windows does not need a tablet.

01 / Desktop

Windows · available

Your engineer alongside the game.

Play on the same PC, or receive telemetry from your PS5 or another PC over your home network. Launch from the Start Menu; the dashboard opens in your browser while the engine runs on that computer.

  • Local strategy, radio, analysis and saved sessions.
  • Use the PC's microphone, speakers or headset for radio.
  • Windows 10 or 11. Current installer is unsigned.
02 / Phone & tablet

Android · APK available

Leave the laptop out of the setup.

The native Android app receives the game's telemetry directly and runs the same engine on your phone or tablet. It keeps its own recordings and uses that device's microphone and audio output.

  • Local strategy, radio, analysis and saved sessions.
  • No Windows host or remote-desktop connection required.
  • Android 7 or later · 64-bit ARM or x86 · 4 KB memory pages.

Devices using 16 KB memory pages are not supported. This is a signed APK, not a Google Play listing.

Keep the app visible and screen awake for live racing. Screen-off reception can be interrupted by Android battery management.

Choose the app that receives this race. Point the game's UDP destination at that device. Using both is optional; transfers and forwarding are separate beta features, not automatic cloud sync.

Included in both apps

From the first packet to the post-race review.

One place to read the race, make a call and find the next improvement. Both apps use the same engine and dashboard; device permissions and audio setup are configured separately.

While you drive

Live race dashboard

Timing tower, gaps, tyres, fuel, ERS, damage and speed, throttle and brake traces. Recorded lap history is distinguished from current inputs and a stale or paused feed.

Strategy you can change

Ranked pit plans, tyre choices, traffic and undercut estimates. Edit the stint timeline, explore alternatives and use wet-weather estimates to inform the next stop.

A two-way radio

Ask about a gap, rival or strategy by voice or typed message. Enable proactive calls for changing race conditions. Spoken radio needs an OpenAI key, internet and working microphone/audio permissions.

When the session ends

Lap and corner analysis

Compare recorded laps by distance. Review braking, apex speed, exits and racing-line differences against a suitable reference. Findings depend on the clean laps and samples available.

Setup Lab

Find your circuit setup, read the settings in garage order, then compare changes using your recorded laps.

A library on your device

Reopen recorded sessions without the game running. Review stints, available traces and post-race summaries. Control storage budgets; retained history depends on those settings.

Make the engineer yours

Voice, personality and layout

Set the engineer's name, voice, wake phrase and radio verbosity. Arrange Drive cards, tune proactive calls and choose the optional, explicitly profane Brutal mode.

Choose the reasoning provider

Use OpenAI, Claude (Anthropic), DeepSeek, Kimi or a configured OpenAI-compatible endpoint for model-backed answers. The spoken radio always uses OpenAI. Manage provider keys in Connection.

Check the actual connection

See whether the receiver is listening or receiving fresh packets, find the device address and inspect connection health. Test credentials, microphone input and audio output as separate checks.

The current release · 5.3.2

A clearer setup sheet. A calmer racing screen.

Find your setup values, see the next stop at a glance, and open the detail when you need it. Test Engineer keeps your runs, notes and comparisons together.

A simpler Setup Lab

Choose Stable or More rotation, then Race or Quali. Read aligned settings in six garage groups, with sources and adaptations available in expandable details. Explore Setup Lab.

The next decision first

Drive and Strategy lead with your next stop and current tyre condition. Forecasts and alternative plans sit behind details; urgent wear, weather, damage and compound warnings stay visible.

Clearer radio recovery

The radio explains when the engineer service times out, needs attention or is temporarily paused. Recent failure diagnostics survive the next successful reply, making intermittent problems easier to investigate.

Practice evidence stays useful

Earlier compound samples remain available through longer later stints. Strategy details distinguish saved laps, usable samples and estimates, so uncertainty about the race plan does not hide the practice data you already have.

A debrief for each stint

Returning to the pits creates a short review of clean pace, consistency, observed pace trend, temperatures and the next test. Save your objective and conclusion with each run.

Your laps, your groups

Define Stint A, B and C by exact laps or ranges, or suggest 2–12 chronological groups and adjust them. Compare medium versus hard stints or use a stricter matched setup test. An isolated slow lap stays in its run.

Remember what happened

Tell the engineer why a lap was compromised. Saved lap notes are reviewed with air/track temperatures, fuel, tyre age and traffic evidence. Edit notes and exclusions later; measured telemetry remains intact.

Compare sessions at the same track

A/B comparison works within one session or across saved sessions at the same track, keeping each run’s notes and exclusions. The setup test matches compound, tyre age, fuel, weather and temperatures. Matched sector differences show where time changed.

Find the strategic battle

Strategy ranks rivals by projected finish gap, including estimated remaining stops and tyre age. Forecast uncertainty stays visible.

Keep the session report

Export automatic runs, custom lap groups, setups, measured conditions, reported notes and conclusions as text or JSON. Android saves through its system file picker. Session Review opens the report for any saved session.

Radio follows the current session

Changing session, restarting or rewinding cancels obsolete radio work and clears live analysis. Delayed packets from a retired session cannot restore the previous track.

Pace trends include fuel and driving effects; they do not isolate tyre degradation. Older recordings may lack the evidence needed for matched setup comparisons. Read the Test Engineer guide.

GPT-6 Luna handles everyday radio questions; GPT-6 Sol handles deeper strategy. Turn on Realtime radio in Settings for live voice conversations you can interrupt. It is off by default, applies immediately and may increase API costs.

Set up your dashboard before the game starts. Labelled sample values let you choose instruments, arrange cards and save your layout without UDP. Touch-friendly editing gives you more control over the numbers you see. Android fills the screen with swipe-to-reveal system bars, and Drive explains your tyre pace trend and the evidence behind it.

From install to your first radio check.

Quick, skippable setup

Add your API key, copy the UDP IP and port to your game, map L3 and try Mark.

Your racing screen. Your way.

Six driver dashboards

A new Driver Dashboard tab brings Cockpit, Race Focus, Battle, Endurance, My Layout and Phone views to live telemetry. Keep the numbers you need within a glance.

A fit for every screen

Automatic profiles adapt to folding, rotation and resizing. Manual options cover Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Tab, iPad sizes, laptops and monitors. Your preferred layout stays saved.

Race control comes first

Prominent steward flags, safety-car information and connection warnings stay visible. Rival race gaps, car numbers and lap comparisons show the current battle.

Make it yours

Choose instruments, resize cards and drag them into place. Build your layout with sample numbers before the race, save it, then switch to live telemetry.

Local telemetry. Optional cloud conversation.

The numbers come from the engine.

On Windows or Android, code computes the telemetry and strategy results. When you ask for model-backed interpretation, the model receives compact context and selected computed results, not your raw recording database.

On your device

Receiving telemetry, recording sessions, calculating race data and reviewing saved laps do not require an AI subscription or an internet connection. Local answers can report gaps, temperatures, damage and strategy status without a model call.

Your recordings stay on your device unless you explicitly export or transfer them. Available analysis depends on the quality and amount of recorded data; missing inputs are not a promise of a complete result.

When you enable AI and voice

Model-backed interpretation uses the provider you configure. Spoken radio uses OpenAI speech services; it needs internet and your own OpenAI API key. Provider usage is billed to you separately.

Cloud transcription sends audio clips to OpenAI. Optional Realtime voice streams microphone audio to OpenAI while a radio session is active. Configure voice on each device and check where its sound plays.

Optional · for people using more than one device

Independent does not mean automatically synced.

Each app works on its own and owns its own library. Pair only when you want to copy saved sessions or forward a live feed. Neither is needed to receive the game directly.

Take your history with you · beta

Pair two devices on the same private network using a QR code or invitation, then choose completed sessions to copy. The receiver checks the archive before importing and skips matching history already present.

This is a manual history transfer, not automatic cloud sync. API keys, microphone permissions and live telemetry are not synced. Stop telemetry on the receiving device before importing.

Copy saved sessions

Telemetry transmission · beta

Optional UDP forwarding sends live game packets to another app or device. It is best-effort: a sent packet does not confirm receipt. Check incoming telemetry on the destination before relying on it during a race.

Forwarding does not copy the saved library. Use trusted destinations on your private network and avoid forwarding loops or duplicate feeds.

Set up beta telemetry forwarding

Follow the transfer all the way to the receiving library

  1. PreparePackage selected history
  2. SendMove the archive
  3. CheckVerify the received file
  4. ImportSave to the destination library

A full send bar is not an import receipt. Very large libraries can still hit archive limits or timeouts: start with small batches and keep the originals until the receiving Library is checked. Previously pruned samples cannot be recovered by transferring a session.

Inside the shared dashboard

Setup Lab is shown on an Android tablet running 5.3.2. The other captures show earlier desktop builds, including a recorded Las Vegas race. Both apps use the same dashboard.

Watch it make a real call

Hungaroring, sixteen laps left, running fourth on old hards with a quicker car three seconds behind. Box and lose the position, or stay out and defend? Everything below is the running application: telemetry arriving over UDP, the strategy engine doing the maths, and the engineer's own voice answering questions asked over the radio.

The forty-second tour

No sound needed — this one is captioned. It is the dashboard during the closing stint of the race described above, recorded from the running application.

The full radio demo

Turn the sound on — the engineer's answers are spoken by the app's own voice. No engineer response was written for this video. The race is synthetic, generated as genuine F1 2026 packet structures and sent to the real receiver; the software reading them is not.

What you need

  • F1 25: 2026 Season Pack on PS5 / PC, with UDP telemetry set to format 2026.
  • Either a Windows 10 or 11 PC or a compatible Android 7+ phone or tablet (64-bit ARM/x86, 4 KB memory pages). Use the same private network as the game, or run Windows and the game on one PC. You do not need both apps.
  • For optional voice, an OpenAI API key, internet, microphone access and speakers or a headset. For model-backed reasoning you can instead choose Claude (Anthropic), DeepSeek or Kimi. The spoken radio always uses the OpenAI key.
  • No API key is required to start with telemetry, local strategy and saved-session analysis. Audio setup and keys are configured separately on each device.

The API key is billed by its provider, not by me

Your Pit Box itself is free. The engineer's voice and reasoning run on your own account with the provider you choose — OpenAI by default — so those calls appear on that provider's bill, not mine. Local answers need no model call. Voice and model-backed usage costs depend on the provider and how much you use them. You set API usage and billing controls on the provider's own dashboard.

macOS is not ready yet

Windows and Android downloads are available. There is no macOS, iPhone or iPad release available. The Android APK is not an iOS app.

What works without internet?

The same split applies to both apps. A local game connection is still needed for live telemetry.

Questions

Does it work on PS5 / PC, or only one platform?

PS5 / PC describes where the game runs. Windows / Android describes where the engineer runs. Send the game's F1 2026 UDP feed to either engineer over your private network, or use loopback when the game and Windows app share a PC. Android does not need a Windows host. The receiver uses the same packet parser; packet-format support does not guarantee every router or device setup. Follow the setup guide for your chosen app.

Will it get me banned, or count as cheating?

Your Pit Box reads the game's exported UDP telemetry; it does not send driving inputs or modify game files. Check the rules of any league or event you enter: this is not a guarantee of permission in every competition.

How much will the AI usage actually cost?

Less than most people expect, because the common questions never reach a model. Gaps, tyre temperatures, damage and strategy status are computed locally and cost nothing. What costs money is open-ended conversation and deep strategy reasoning during a long race. You can monitor API usage, use prepaid credits and configure billing alerts on your provider's dashboard — OpenAI's by default; Your Pit Box keeps working without the radio if the key stops.

Can I use Claude, DeepSeek or Kimi instead of OpenAI?

Yes, for the engineer's reasoning. Paste that provider's key on the Connection tab and pick it as the engineer's provider — it applies immediately, no restart. The spoken radio (speech-to-text and the engineer's voice) always uses OpenAI, so without an OpenAI key the engineer answers typed questions on the dashboard and stays silent on the radio. Local OpenAI-compatible servers work too, via the custom endpoint.

What data leaves my device?

Compact situation summaries and selected computed results go to the AI provider you configured when a question needs model judgement. The database and raw trace files are not uploaded to the AI provider. Cloud transcription sends recorded audio clips to OpenAI; optional Realtime voice streams microphone audio to OpenAI while a radio session is active. With beta history transfer, explicitly copying sessions sends their saved history and available traces to your paired device on the local network; it does not create a cloud account or sync your API keys.

Will my laptop and tablet automatically stay in sync?

No. Each device records and stores its own sessions. With beta history transfers, you pair devices and choose which completed sessions to copy. A history transfer does not forward the game's live UDP feed: point the game at the receiving device's current address shown in Connection, or separately configure beta UDP forwarding. Do not start an import while that device is recording.

Do I need to be online?

Not for Your Pit Box itself. There is no activation and no account: telemetry, strategy, analysis and the dashboard all work with no connection. Only the spoken radio and model-backed answers need internet, because those are the parts that call your AI provider.

Is it really free? What is the catch?

Yes, and there is no catch. The download is the complete application, nothing is held back for a paid tier, and nothing expires. The only running cost is your own AI provider usage, billed by that provider to you. If Your Pit Box earns you a position, buy me a coffee — a thank-you, not a purchase.

Are app downloads counted?

Yes. We keep aggregate daily counts of Windows and Android download starts, plus first/last start timestamps. These counters do not store visitor IP addresses, names, emails, user-agent logs or tracking cookies. They measure download starts, not installations or unique people. Separately, newer app builds offer an optional choice to share basic usage statistics; it is off until you choose it and can be changed in Settings. See what data goes where.

What do you do with my email?

The Windows download prompt asks for an email address, and you can skip it. The Android APK link downloads directly. If you give one, it is stored with the date on my Cloudflare account and used for exactly one thing: telling you when a new version ships. No newsletter, nothing sold or shared, and a reply to any of those emails removes you. The app itself never sends me anything.

It is free, so why did the installer ask for an activation code?

Older installers were built before Your Pit Box went free and asked for a code the first time they started. The current download needs no activation code. Download the latest installer and run it over your existing installation; your sessions and settings are kept.

I bought a code before it went free. What now?

Your install keeps working exactly as it is, and the code stays valid on that computer. Whenever you like, download the current installer and run it over the top: your sessions and settings are kept, and it will never ask for a code again. Thank you for backing it when it cost something.

Free. If it helps you, buy me a coffee.

Your Pit Box is free to download and free to keep — no code, no account, no subscription. It is a one-person project; if it earns you a position, a coffee keeps it going.
